What is CSS?

CSS - Cascading Style Sheets

CSS was developed for use with HTML in web pages, to describe how it should be formatted. CSS is typically used to provide a single "library" of styles that are used over and over throughout a number of pages in a web site. Designers can create style sheets that define how different elements, such as headers and links, appear. A CSS file might specify that all numbered lists are to appear in italics for example. These style sheets can then be applied to any web page. CSS was a big breakthrough in web design because it allows developers to control the style and layout of multiple web pages all at once.
